History
In 1972, Otto Engelberth began a small two-person, home-based construction business. Thirty-four years later, the firm still carries his name and is now one of the largest and most diversified construction companies in Vermont and New Hampshire. Launched with funding from a $10,000 second mortgage and a family loan, the company’s annual revenues have grown consistently and now exceed $93 million.
Growing to Serve New Markets
The company originated and is still headquartered in Colchester, Vermont. In 2001, Engelberth sought an opportunity to better service its existing clients and develop new client relationships in southern Vermont and southwest New Hampshire. We achieved this goal by opening our Keene, New Hampshire office.
Employing the Best
Today, one of our greatest strengths is our workforce. Engelberth employs over 260 people, and maintains one of the largest and most highly skilled construction workforces in the region.
Evolving With a New Leadership Team
In 1997, Otto handed over the company’s daily operations to Pierre LeBlanc, President and Thomas Clavelle, Executive Vice President. Otto is now able to devote more time to his personal interests and community involvement. Known throughout the business community for his high standards of excellence and business ethics, Otto is an inspiration to the people who work with him.
Changing to Meet Our Clients’ Needs
Over the years, change has been inevitable, but it has always served the best interests of our clients. New services, techniques and technology have enhanced our business and made us more efficient and dynamic. The one constant has been our commitment to providing our clients with the utmost quality and value, and exceptional customer service.
