LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a voluntary, consensus-based national standard for developing high-performance, sustainable buildings emphasizing sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality. Members of the U.S. Green Building Council representing all segments of the building industry developed the standard. LEED Accredited Professionals are experienced building industry practitioners who have demonstrated their knowledge of integrated design and their capacity to facilitate the LEED certification process.
Engelberth has made a commitment to maintaining sustainable building practices and encourages its employees to become LEED Accredited Professionals.
Over the past couple of years Engelberth Construction has built numerous projects that are LEED certified including the Dartmouth College McLaughlin Cluster Student Residences, Plymouth State University Langdon Woods Campus Housing, and Seventh Generation’s Corporate Headquarters in Burlington. Langdon Woods is the first new residence hall in the United States to achieve LEED Gold Certification. Other sustainable building projects Engelberth has recently built or is currently building that are not seeking LEED Certification include University of Vermont Given Courtyard, Mascoma Savings Bank Operations Center, McFarland State Office Building, Keene State College Media Arts Center and Williams College Children’s Center.
