C. Douglas Cairns Arena
South Burlington, Vermont
The arena was built to the delight of sports enthusiasts all throughout Chittenden County. The 30,000 sf facility is used by area schools and hockey leagues twelve months out of the year.
The arena has a seating capacity of six hundred and includes locker rooms, a warm up area and concession area. Because of the overwhelming success of the facility and the need for additional ice time, a second facility was constructed adjacent to the first by Engelberth Construction.
The second facility stretches 40,000 sf and includes a 200’ x 85’ Olympic sized rink, locker rooms, a warm up area, and a large entrance way that houses common space for both rinks, including office space, an ice skate sharpening shop and other retail shops.
