Castleton State College Stadium and Athletic Fields
Castleton, Vermont
As part of Castleton State College’s Student Initiative Project, Engelberth was hired to reconstruct all of the existing athletic fields including baseball, softball, north and south practice fields, and new skate park; construct a new stadium and synthetic turf field; and reconstruct related campus parking and walkways.
The NCAA sanctioned fields now enable the College to hold regional and national tournaments as well as high school state championship games. Games can be played regardless of weather due to the new state of the art synthetic turf field and associated storm system which prevents saturated field conditions.
The new 1600-seat Spartan Stadium boasts a ticket booth, restrooms, press room, function room, a coach’s room and fully loaded broadcasting rooms for television and radio. Spartan Stadium serves as a venue for field hockey, soccer, lacrosse, football, and intramural sports.
