LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a voluntary, consensus-based national standard for developing high-performance, sustainable buildings emphasizing sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality. Members of the U.S. Green Building Council representing all segments of the building industry developed the standard. LEED Accredited Professionals are experienced building industry practitioners who have demonstrated their knowledge of integrated design and their capacity to facilitate the LEED certification process. Todd is also an active member in a new organization named the Green Building Group of Vermont, a coalition of companies and individuals who work on sustainable design and construction, and on related energy efficiency and environmental issues. The Green Building Groups mission is to increase Vermont's participation in green building and to promote the environmental, financial, community, and health benefits of green design, construction, and building operation practices.
