Project Overview
Reenvisioned to celebrate the building’s rich history while incorporating modern functionality, Engelberth was selected to undertake the renovation of Dartmouth College’s oldest, renowned and symbolic structure, Dartmouth Hall. The project encompassed a comprehensive 36,000 s.f. interior renovation and significant structural repairs. It involved the installation of entirely new mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems, addition of an elevator, a reconfigured layout for classrooms, offices, lecture spaces, and an expansive mechanical area in the attic.
To enhance energy efficiency and align with the College’s sustainability objectives, the heating system in Dartmouth Hall was converted from steam to low-temp hot water. The renovation also included the incorporation of state-of-the-art security, audiovisual equipment, lighting and premium finishes, blending the building’s historical significance with contemporary functionality.
